NEWS > 2019.05.16: PARTY OF ONE AT ART OF LIGHT
FIRST PUBLIC VIEWING OF 3D VIDEO INSTALLATION

Maximus Clarke’s 3D video projection piece, PARTY OF ONE, will go on view on May 16, 2019, at the HoloCenter on Canal, as part of ART OF LIGHT, marking the International Day of Light.

PARTY OF ONE is a stereoscopic 3D video meditation on unity and celebration. An image of the planet Earth, slowly rotating, is blended with an image of a disco ball, at the same scale and spinning in the same direction. The piece was previously screened for attendees at Materials for the Arts’ 40th anniversary gala last October in Long Island City, Queens.

The ART OF LIGHT event is a part of the IRIDESCENCE exhibition of art holograms, presented in conjunction with the Paris-based Hologram Foundation. The exhibition fills the Chinatown storefront popup space temporarily occupied by the Center for the Holographic Arts.

The evening will also including artist talks and screenings featuring Eric Leiser, Sam Moree, Ikuo Nakamura, Lindsay Packer, and Matthew Schreiber.
