On Saturday, August 6, Maximus Clarke will deliver a talk at 3D-Con in Tacoma, Washington, about the production of his 3D music video for Maxx Klaxon’s song FROM THE AIR.
The talk, scheduled for noon, will explore how Clarke combined a variety of eclectic source material — including his own stereoscopic still photos and video clips, open-source digital 3D models, and “found 3D” derived from 2D footage — to create the video, which depicts a surrealistic journey through the skies on a doomed airliner.
The full video will be shown later that afternoon during the 3pm programming block in the convention’s 3D Theater, which features a cinema-sized screen and a state-of-the-art circular polarized stereoscopic projection system.
3D-Con is the annual convention of the National Stereoscopic Association, a nonprofit organization that promotes the study, collection and use of stereo photography. This year’s convention takes place at the Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma.
