NEW ANAGLYPH IMAGE IN EXHIBITION ON THE SUBLIME

Maximus Clarke’s composite anaglyph 3D image, ABYSSUS ABYSSUM INVOCAT, is featured in “Celestial Opera, Human Cathedrals”, the third annual open call exhibition at Paradice Palase in Bushwick, Brooklyn. This year’s edition of the show is presented for the first time as a digital exhibition, supported by a limited edition print catalog.

Guest juried by Lauren Wolchik, the works selected this year respond to the theme of “the sublime” — greatness beyond all possibility of measurement or imitation. This theme resonates in a growing climate of uncertainty, frustration, and, for some, fear. It serves as a lens through which artists across disciplines have created work that is inspiring, transcendental, blindingly beautiful, horrific, grotesque, infinite, and more.

The virtual exhibition, featuring the works of 34 artists, will run through Aug. 31 on the Paradice Palase website. 100% of net proceeds from catalog sales will be donated to The Black School, a radical black education project seeking physical space in New Orleans to put down roots.
