FINAL PERFORMANCES AT ART EXHIBITION IN ROCKAWAYS

The 2024 edition of AUTHORITARIAN IDOL will close out its run this year with two final shows in Far Rockaway, Queens, NYC, as part of the Portal: Rockaway contemporary art showcase.

AUTHORITARIAN IDOL is Maximus Clarke’s quadrennial multimedia performance satirizing the media and political spectacle of the U.S. presidential election. Clarke performs as his alter ego, electropop artist and aspiring dictator Maxx Klaxon, accompanied by anaglyph 3D video projections.

These last two shows will unfold at 4pm on Saturday, Oct. 5, and Sunday, Oct. 13, as part of Portal: Rockaway, a dynamic exhibition presented by curatorial collective 4heads, and featuring an eclectic range of paintings, drawings, installations, sculptures, and performances by 34 artists.

Portal: Rockaway is located at the Rockaway Artists Alliance Studio 7 Galleries, in the Gateway National Recreation Area on the Rockaway peninsula, in Queens, NYC. The exhibition opened on Sept. 28, and will run through Oct. 13.
